Glass fronted desert suites with plunge pools and skylights
&Beyond Sossusvlei Desert Lodge stands alone in 12,715 hectares of private reserve on the edge of the Namib Sand Sea, the world's oldest desert and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, bordering NamibRand Nature Reserve and Namib Naukluft National Park. Stone, glass and light do the work here: ten suites and one family suite are set low into a rocky slope, each with fold away glass walls, a shaded veranda, a private plunge pool and a skylight above the bed for the Namibian night sky.
Days can be busy or entirely still. Guides take you into the dunes at Sossusvlei, out on e-bikes across ochre plains, to quad bike tracks, nature drives and walks that read desert adapted life in the sand. This is one of the few andBeyond lodges that encourages self guided exploring, so you can simply walk out. Back at the lodge there is a wine cellar, a wellness space and an observatory with a resident astronomer.
