Stylish and relaxing boutique hotel in Cambodia’s Battambang

Bambu Hotel has 16 rooms across four traditionally styled buildings in Battambang, on the east bank of the Sangkae River. The hotel combines French colonial and Khmer architectural styles, most visible in the original patterned floor tiles. Every room has a private balcony or terrace. The suites go further, with antique Khmer beds and hammocks strung across their own terraces. Outside is a saltwater pool to cool down in. The hotel sits within walking distance of Battambang's French colonial shopfronts and the art deco Psar Nat market. Further out, staff arrange trips on the region's bamboo train, a plank-and-axle norry running on old rail track, and to the bat caves at Phnom Sampeau, where a colony streams out at dusk.
