Community Homestay Network

CHN’s network spans five broad clusters across Nepal. In the Kathmandu Valley, ancient Newari towns like Panauti, Patan, Bhaktapur, and Nagarkot offer cultural immersion just a short drive from the capital with medieval temples, farming life, and mountain views within the same day. Around Pokhara and the Annapurna foothills, villages like Narchyang give trekkers a crowd-free alternative to the classic circuits. In the Chitwan and Bardiya regions of the lowland Terai, Tharu communities border some of Nepal’s finest national parks, putting rhinos, tigers, and jungle walks on the doorstep. Further east, communities in Dhankuta and Ilam open up Nepal’s rarely visited hill country, while the far west remains genuinely off the map for most travellers.
