Treehouse-style bayans in the Daintree with walks and a restorative spa
Daintree Ecolodge sits inside a rainforest tens of millions of years older than the Amazon, reached by a short ferry crossing and a final stretch of red dirt road. Fifteen bayans, treehouse cabins raised on stilts, are spaced widely through thick tropical vegetation to reduce environmental impact and maximise privacy. Some open onto outdoor rain showers and freestanding bathtubs set beneath the canopy. A short trail from the lodge leads to its own waterfall and swimming hole, a site Kuku Yalanji women have used for healing for thousands of years. Nearby, the open-air restaurant overlooks a natural lagoon where turtles and tropical birds are often seen. Join guided experiences with Kuku Yalanji traditional owners, including bush tucker walks and rainforest interpretation tours or decompress in the onsite spa, which offers treatments using Australian botanicals like lemon myrtle and kakadu plum.
