A small vegetarian bed and breakfast in Johor Bahru

Eco B and B is a little white house in Johor Bahru run by owners who think going green should be affordable and, ideally, quite good fun. Five rooms, each named after a piece of music, come with private bathrooms, fresh towels and a labu sayong clay jar on the side table that keeps drinking water cool without a fridge. Much of the furniture has been rescued, repaired or rebuilt, and the owners are happy to explain where each piece came from.

Breakfast is fully vegetarian, a deliberate choice to keep the carbon footprint of the meal low, and ingredients are bought locally wherever possible. The house sits in a quiet residential neighbourhood with hawker food and groceries close by, and it makes a practical base for Johor Bahru itself, the causeway to Singapore, Legoland Malaysia and day trips towards Desaru and Kukup. A sister apartment, Sky Garden Residence, takes whole house bookings for families and small groups.
