Few & Far Luvhondo

Few & Far Luvhondo sits high in the Soutpansberg, the mountain range that closes South Africa's northern border, inside the UNESCO Vhembe Biosphere Reserve. Six eucalyptus and glass cliff suites are strung along a ridge above a wooded valley, each with a long private terrace, an outdoor shower and views that run for miles with no other building in sight. Baobabs, gorges, waterfalls and leopard country sit at the door, and stays are all inclusive, with meals, drinks and two guided activities daily.

Days are unusually varied for a safari lodge. You can track wildlife by 4x4, hike the gorges, mountain bike old game trails, swim in waterfalls that appear on no map, or ride the Solyrus, a solar powered cable car that lifts you silently over the canopy. Evenings bring fireside stories, Venda music and food grown in the lodge gardens. It is the rare wilderness lodge that is carbon negative and close to zero waste.
